Mark Kerrigan, 46, Accused of Causing the Death of His 70-Year-Old Father
Kerrigan Faces Up to 2 1/2 Years in Prison on Assault and Battery Charge
The brother of former Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was charged Monday with assaulting their 70-year-old father. Mark Kerrigan, 46, of Stoneham, was arrested on January 24 on a charge of assault and battery after Stoneham police responded to a domestic disturbance call.
According to prosecutors, Kerrigan allegedly pushed his father, Daniel Kerrigan, to the ground, causing him to hit his head. Daniel Kerrigan died two days later from his injuries.
Mark Kerrigan was arraigned in Woburn District Court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was released on $5,000 bail and ordered to stay away from his father's home.
If convicted of assault and battery, Kerrigan could face up to 2 1/2 years in prison.
